“Arizona, my desert queen, I wrote you a song,” Freja says, picking up her guitar.
“I didn’t know you write songs!” Arizona responds, excited.
“I do. Lyrics are very important to me and as I was eating those strawberries out of your vagina this morning, I was inspired to write this song about you.”
“Sing it now, please,” Arizona begs.
“Well, alright,” Freja says modestly, even though she planned on singing it even if Arizona didn’t ask her to.
Freja’s delicate fingers begin playing the guitar and she starts singing;
“So baby come to me
Show me who you are
Sweet to me
Like sugar to my heart
I’m cravin’ for you
I’m missin’ you like candy…”
Freja segued into a talking part of her song and says;
“You know who you are
Your love’s as sweet as candy.
I’ll be forever yours
Love always, Mandy”
Then Freja played a couple more cords and finished the song.
“What do you think?” Freja asks, wide eyed.
“It’s, um, good. Thank you for making it…but… um, those were just the lyrics to Mandy Moore’s song, ‘Candy’.”
“No way,” Freja says, kicking herself for only knowing the lyrics to ‘Candy’ and LFO’s ‘Summer Girls’. Freja certainly couldn’t have convinced Arizona ‘Summer Girls’ was about her. Arizona was above booking an Abercrombie & Fitch shoot and she loves Chinese food.
“Those definitely are the lyrics, you even ended it with, ‘love always, Mandy’. You didn’t even change the name to Freja.”
“Mandy is your pet name for me.”
“It’s not though,” Arizona points out.
“You’re right, what am I saying? I meant that it’s my pet name for you,” Freja says then puts the guitar down. She walks over and sits next to Arizona, then whispers, “I love you, Mandy.”
“I love you too… Mandy?” Arizona said, confused, but proud that Freja was able to do such a great Mandy Moore cover.
